Jordan Nelson, MD

Jordan Nelson, MD, is a family medicine physician at Sunset Clinic in St. George, committed to building lasting relationships with his patients and helping them achieve long-term health and wellness. A native of St. George, Dr. Nelson is bilingual in Spanish and English, enabling him to care for a diverse patient population and foster meaningful connections within the community he proudly calls home.

Dr. Nelson’s clinical interests include preventive medicine, mental health, joint injections, and women’s health. He particularly enjoys the long-term management and optimization of chronic conditions, working alongside patients to help them improve their health, reach their goals, and maintain a high quality of life.

His philosophy of care centers on partnership and trust. Dr. Nelson believes that building long-term relationships with patients is one of the greatest joys of medicine and leads to better, more personalized care. He strives to make healthcare a collaborative process, combining each patient’s values and preferences with his clinical expertise to make informed decisions together.

One of Dr. Nelson’s favorite aspects of being a physician is teaching. He enjoys the daily opportunity to educate patients about disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and effective strategies for managing chronic health conditions. By helping patients understand their health, he empowers them to take an active role in their care and well-being.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nelson has a wide range of hobbies and interests. He enjoys music, including drumming, DJing, and record collecting, as well as mountain biking and board games. He has been married for more than a decade and loves spending time with his wife, young daughter, and young son. Whether exploring the outdoors, sharing music, or enjoying family activities, he values the balance and joy that come from a full and active life.
