Jonathan T. Whitaker, DO

Dr. Jonathan Whitaker is a hospitalist at Intermountain Health's Riverton Hospital in Riverton, Utah. As a hospitalist, Dr. Whitaker cares for patients throughout their hospital stay. He coordinates treatment, manages medications, and works with specialists, nurses, and patients’ primary care providers to keep their care connected. He's in the hospital every day — listening, answering questions, and making sure patients understand their plan of care from admission through discharge.

As a provider, Dr. Whitaker finds meaning in helping patients recover from many kinds of illnesses and making sure they get the best possible care. He works with each patient to create a care plan they both agree on. Dr. Whitaker also gives compassionate support to patients moving into end-of-life care. He works to keep their final days as comfortable and dignified as possible.

Dr. Whitaker cared for patients in Oregon for several years before moving to Utah to be near his family and the Rocky Mountains. Outside of work, he and his family enjoy Utah's scenery and spending time together outdoors.
