John Elgin Utley, DO

John Utley, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician proudly serving the community of Parowan, Utah. He provides comprehensive, whole-person care for patients of all ages, with clinical interests that include rural medicine, sports and musculoskeletal medicine, preventative care, mental health, dermatology, and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM).

Dr. Utley is especially passionate about musculoskeletal cases, where hands-on care and targeted treatment often lead to noticeable improvements—helping patients get back to doing what they love. As a family physician, he values the unique privilege of building long-term relationships with individuals and families, and being the first point of contact for a wide range of health concerns.

His approach to care goes beyond treating symptoms—he focuses on understanding and addressing the whole person. Dr. Utley partners with patients to help them take control of their health and live their best possible life. He is excited to bring his skills and passion for rural and community-based care back home to southern Utah.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Utley enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons. He loves the outdoors and can often be found fly fishing, camping, hiking, or occasionally rock climbing and mountain biking. A fan of fantasy novels, he enjoys reading and listening to audiobooks. An avid runner and swimmer, Dr. Utley has completed a full marathon, several half marathons, and multiple triathlons.
