Joanna Kong, PA

Joanna Kong, PA-C is a Physician Assistant who specializes in treating disorders of the adult hip and knee as well as general orthopedic trauma.  She works in clinic and as first assist in surgery with Dr. Matthew Shirley. 

Joanna is a first-generation immigrant and the first college graduate in her family. She moved from China to New York City at a young age. She completed her undergraduate and master's degree (Physician Assistant) studies at St. John's University in Queens, New York.  Throughout her career, she has worked in orthopedics in New York, California and Hawaii. Joanna and her family relocated to Utah in 2024.   She is excited to be back in the Wasatch Back where she first learned to snowboard many years ago.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their 3 boys.
