Dr. Jeremy D. Shaw is a fellowship-trained, board-certified spine surgeon who treats conditions of the neck and back. He is one of the few surgeons in the region who regularly performs motion-preserving spine surgery, including cervical disc replacement (cervical disc arthroplasty), lumbar disc replacement, and cervical laminoplasty. These procedures treat the source of your pain while helping you keep natural movement in your neck or back, and they can allow many patients to avoid spinal fusion.
Dr. Shaw also performs minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery for degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine, such as spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and spondylolisthesis. He treats complex spinal deformity and takes on revision surgery for patients whose earlier operation did not resolve their symptoms.
Patients travel from across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, and Montana to see him. Dr. Shaw performs your surgery himself, supported by a team of experts in spine care. He welcomes patients who want a second opinion before deciding whether surgery is right for them.
Dr. Shaw serves as Professor and Medical Director of Research for Neurosciences at Intermountain Health and holds an adjunct professorship at the University of Utah. He has published extensively in the field of spine surgery with hundreds of articles, book chapters and presentations given to other spine surgeons both nationally and internationally. He has been recognized repeatedly for both his research and his patient care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Shaw enjoys spending time with his family and an active outdoor lifestyle.

I could not walk. He explained how I would function without the surgery and having the surgery. I am walking and so glad he was my surgeon. I really like his mannerisms and he is upfront about the procedure. I highly recommend to anyone I know that needs this surgery from Dr. Shaw..

Dr. Shaw is simply amazing. Really cares about me as a person and patient, listens closely to my symptoms and concerns, and gives me advise that takes all of that into consideration.
