Jennifer Farnsworth, NP

Jennifer "Jenny" Farnsworth, DNP, is a neonatal nurse practitioner who cares for newborns in the NICU at Intermountain Health's American Fork Hospital in American Fork, Utah. She treats prematurity, pulmonary hypertension, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, sepsis, and respiratory failure, and her procedural experience includes endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, thoracostomy, lumbar punctures, and cardiocentesis. During her doctoral education, Jenny completed an evidence-based project focused on improving end-of-life care for infants and their families, and she remains passionate about easing suffering and fostering family bonding throughout an infant's life.

Jenny loves caring for newborns and supporting them through their healing journey. She approaches each baby with patience, curiosity, and attention to detail, recognizing that thorough assessments can reveal subtle signs that matter to a baby's health and well-being. Her goal is to understand each infant as a whole, identify concerns early, and provide thoughtful care that supports both immediate recovery and long-term development. She partners closely with families, listening to their concerns, answering their questions, and involving them in decisions so they feel heard, informed, and confident in their baby's care. She also believes wholeheartedly in a team approach and is grateful for the NICU team's individual expertise in caring for every baby.

Jenny was raised on Oahu, Hawaii, until her family moved to West Valley City, Utah, when she was 13, and she is grateful for the memories from both places. She and her husband live in Mapleton, Utah, with their two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, listening to audiobooks, crocheting stuffed animals, and hiking.
