Jason R Downing, NP

Jason Downing joins the provider team after working as a registered nurse (RN) in the NICU at Utah Valley Hospital for almost 20 years. He joined the NICU team after experiencing the NICU as a parent. His first son was born at 28 weeks, weighed less than 3 lbs., and the family spent three months in the NICU. His experience as a parent in the NICU has given him a unique perspective as a caregiver. He is passionate about helping the patients and parents who come into the NICU. 

Jason is enthusiastic about embarking on this new chapter as a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP). His philosophy of care is deeply rooted in compassion, advocacy, empowerment, and collaboration. Jason's dedication to these principles is shown as he provides exceptional care that fosters the physical, emotional, and developmental well-being of every newborn under his care.

His clinical interests include neonatal intensive care, nutrition and growth management, NRP, airway management, and preventing and treating premature conditions.

Outside of work, the Utah native enjoys fostering relationships and creating experiences with his family. They enjoy spending time outside or relaxing at home watching a good movie. He is happily married and the proud father of four.
