Jared J. Smith, PA-C, is a physician assistant with Intermountain Health’s Heart Rhythm Specialist Group, specializing in electrophysiology and the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. His clinical interests include electrophysiology, EKG interpretation, heart rhythm disorders, cardiovascular care, and disease prevention. He cares for patients with conditions such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, heart block, arrhythmias, bradycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and premature atrial and ventricular beats. He also performs and supports procedures including electrocardiograms (EKGs), pacemaker interrogations, electrical cardioversion, and loop recorder implantation.

His approach to care is centered on listening, education, and partnership. Jared strives to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while helping patients understand their heart rhythm condition and treatment options. He wants every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident in their care as they work together to develop a treatment plan that reflects the patient’s individual needs, goals, and quality of life.

Jared’s passion for medicine began at an early age with a fascination for science and the complexity of the human heart. He started his healthcare career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) before becoming a Paramedic, providing care in emergency and critical care settings for more than 15 years. He also gained valuable experience working in the Emergency Department at the University of Utah. Known for his approachable personality and exceptional bedside manner, Jared is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Originally from South Jordan, Utah, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife and children, family and friends, and their Australian Shepherd, Shadow. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, swimming, skiing, woodworking, home projects, and spending time outdoors.
