James Nguyen, PA

James Nguyen is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) specializing in otolaryngology at Intermountain Health’s Utah Valley ENT – North Valley in American Fork, Utah. He supports patients in American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Highland, and surrounding communities with clinical interests in treating chronic allergic rhinitis and immunotherapy cases. James finds a unique satisfaction in helping a patient identify their specific environmental triggers and then watching their quality of life transform as we desensitize their immune system.

As a physician assistant, James is committed to providing accessible, high-quality care that focuses on the whole person. He believes that successful treatment in otolaryngology requires not just technical skill, but a compassionate advocate who supports the patient from their first consultation through their final recovery. As a Physician Assistant, he has the unique opportunity to spend time educating his patients. He believes that medical care is most effective when the patient understands the 'how' and 'why' of their treatment.

He particularly enjoys treating patients with long-term sinonasal conditions and sleep disorders. These conditions often take a subtle but heavy toll on a patient’s daily energy and overall well-being. He enjoys the process of clearing those hurdles—whether through medical management or evaluating if the patient is a good candidate for minimally invasive surgery—to help a patient literally breathe easier and sleep better. Seeing that immediate improvement in their daily vitality is why he loves this field.

James served in the United States Air Force, discharging at rank of Senior Airman. He’s originally from Salt Lake City, Uta and enjoys playing electric guitar, spending time outdoors, and hiking with his German Shepherd, Freya.
