About The Provider
Ian Shenk, APRN, is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in oncology at Intermountain Health's Cancer Center at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He cares for adults with cancer in the outpatient setting. He especially enjoys working through the diagnostic and treatment challenges that can come up during the cancer journey.
Ian enjoys caring for patients with complex medical needs. He combines clinical knowledge, careful problem-solving, and close attention to each patient's needs. He builds long-term relationships with his patients and provides individualized care that helps them feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout treatment.
Ian believes good care starts with truly listening. He sees each patient as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. He knows a cancer diagnosis can bring uncertainty and many hard decisions, so he wants patients to feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their concerns. To Ian, no question is too small. Most of all, he wants his patients to know they are not facing their cancer journey alone.
Ian was born in Kansas and grew up in Arizona. He has called Utah home since 2012 and loves its people, communities, and beautiful surroundings. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, taking walks with his dog, and playing board games.
