About Harris L. Carmichael

About The Provider

Dr. Carmichael is a Hospitalist (doctoring working only with hospitalized patients) and researcher at Intermountain Health. He spends most of his clinical time working with medical students and residents teaching teams at Intermountain Medical Center. He completed residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah in 2018. He then completed his Master's of Health Policy at Stanford University and the joint Intermountain Health / Stanford Medicine fellowship in Population Health and Care Delivery Science in 2020. He is an Assistant Professor of Hospital Medicine at Intermountain Health, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah, and Research Fellow in the Intermountain Healthcare Delivery Institute. His research primarily focuses on national trends in patient outcomes and creating new definitions for the quality of care we deliver. Dr. Carmichael was elected to Fellowship in the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2023.
