Haley M. Houtchens, NP

Haley grew up in Greeley, Colorado, with deep roots in the Weld County community going back generations. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Utah State University, where she was a gymnast. She then worked for State Farm for 10 years but decided to go back to school to become a nurse after her firstborn child was born with a congenital heart defect. This experience called her to pursue a medical profession. She studied at the University of Colorado and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Haley worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado for 15 years in various capacities, including in the cardiac step-down unit, emergency department, and in the school health department. She is a certified pediatric nurse and certified asthma educator. In 2016, Haley returned to school in 2016 to pursue a master’s degree in nursing. She became a board-certified family nurse practitioner in 2022. She believes good healthcare starts at birth and requires kind, compassionate, family-centered care. Haley prides herself on being warm, approachable, and going the extra mile for her patients. It is a privilege for her to be present during some of the most personal moments in people's lives, and she feels lucky to have the chance to help her patients through those times.

Haley and her husband were married in 2019, reconnecting 25 years after being college sweethearts. They have a blended family of six grown children and one granddaughter. They love to travel, spend time with their grown children, hike, run, waterski, and do all things Colorado.
