About George Jarad

About The Provider

Dr. George Jarad is a nephrologist at Intermountain Health's St. George Kidney Clinic, providing care to patients in St. George and it's surrounding areas. For more than 15 years, he has worked with transplant teams to extend his care to kidney, liver, heart, lung, and bone marrow transplant patients. His affection for patient care extends to those undergoing dialysis, where he champions the benefits of home-based treatment options.

His desire to work in nephrology stems from his interest in understanding and treating kidney diseases. From his early days in the laboratory, Dr. Jarad was fascinated with proteinuric kidney diseases and monogenetic conditions, particularly Alport Syndrome.

Dr. Jarad believes in the importance of people over ailments. To him, medicine isn't just about treating diseases; it's about understanding and empathizing with individuals. He knows that by getting to know his patients, he can effectively communicate with them to help alleviate their fears and uncertainties.

As an advocate for honesty, Dr. Jarad pledges to always be forthright with his patients, delivering both good and bad news with compassion and integrity.

Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the landscapes of Utah, where he loves to hike, bike, and camp.

Dr. Jarad knew I was frightened. He took the time I needed to explain what was going on and what my care would be. I absolutely loved this man. I wish he could be my primary care physician!

I came in with an injury but Dr Jerad took the time to go line by line of my medications and explained how they'd effect my kidneys. It was insight I was not expecting and greatly appreciated:)
