Francisco Martinez, MD is a medical oncology provider at Intermountain Health’s Cancer Center – Alta View in Sandy, Utah. He supports patients in Sandy, Riverton, South Jordan, West Jordan, and surrounding communities, treating lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate, lymphoma, leukemia, iron deficient anemia, and more.

Dr. Martinez’s practice philosophy centers on getting to know each patient individually, investing time to understand the goals and motivations behind every decision, and creating custom-tailored care plans. He strives to treat every patient with the same care and dignity he would want for his family members and is honored to continue this legacy of care as a provider at Intermountain Health.

Since graduating from Hillcrest High School in South Jordan, Utah, Dr. Martinez has dreamed of becoming a hematologist/oncologist. His journey began as an undergrad when he took an introductory cancer biology course at Stanford, and he has never looked back. Despite his extensive academic background, nothing prepared him for the personal impact of cancer when his father was diagnosed during his studies. Thankfully, he pulled through with the help of a brilliant oncologist and a dedicated care team at Intermountain Health.
