About Evelyn Cross
About The Provider
My name is Evelyn Cross, and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP). I work with a wide variety of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders, with a focus on voice and swallowing. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Biology from Boston College. After working for several years as a paraprofessional for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I decided to return to graduate school at Northern Arizona University, where I earned my Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.
I am particularly passionate about the effects of head and neck cancer on speech and swallowing. I am motivated to improve interdisciplinary collaboration to maximize the quality of care provided to these patients before, during, and after their unique treatment course. I participate in weekly tumor board meetings and attend a monthly work group with other SLPs across various Intermountain Health sites who are equally passionate about standardizing the course of care for individuals with head and neck cancer.
I grew up on an old Christmas tree farm in rural Pennsylvania but have lived out west since 2018. In 2023, I moved to Grand Junction with my husband, Andrew, and we quickly fell in love with the community and the incredible access to the outdoors. In my free time, I enjoy trail running, backpacking, rock climbing, watercolor painting, baking, and gardening.
