About The Provider
Dr. Evan Ownby joined Intermountain Health after practicing for ten years as an interventional cardiologist in Lynchburg, Virginia. He brings extensive training and expertise in managing coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, venous insufficiency, and venous thromboembolism. His practice includes chronic management of these diseases for patients in the clinic setting, complemented by various endovascular hospital-based procedures to optimize patient care.
Dr. Ownby joined the Intermountain Health Heart & Vascular Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center in 2024. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine. After earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University, he received additional training at Indiana University, where he completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. He also served as a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at The Ohio State University.
Born and raised in the Ozarks in central Missouri, Dr. Ownby's personal background and interests make him relatable to the Western Slope community. He attended college in the West where he met his wife. They are parents to six children and have enjoyed getting to know and love many communities across the country. He is now excited to call Grand Junction home and looks forward to getting to know the beautiful surroundings and serving in the community. When he is not providing care at the Heart & Vascular Institute, he likes to spend his time hiking, traveling and other fun adventures with family.
