About Esther L. Kannapel
About The Provider
Esther Kannapel is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with advanced training and a strong dedication to the field of hematology and oncology. Based in Grand Junction, Colorado, Esther provides compassionate care to patients facing blood disorders and all stages of cancer.
With a patient-centered approach, Esther has spent much of her career focused on the care of patients with breast and gynecologic cancer. She works closely with individuals and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. She is particularly interested in survivorship care following cancer treatment, including the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and in the care and prevention of cancer therapy-related toxicities (i.e., menopausal symptoms, bone and cardiovascular health).
“I believe that providing education to help patients understand their diagnosis, testing results, and recommended therapies is critical to an optimal outcome. It is a top focus in the care that I provide.”
Known for her kind demeanor and strong advocacy for patients, Esther believes in treating the whole person—not just the condition. She strives to create a calm, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Esther enjoys exploring the Western Slope through hiking, cross-country skiing, and exploring with her husband and their daughter when she's not in the clinic.
