Erica Hartsell, NP

Erica Hartsell is a family nurse practitioner specializing as a neurohospitalist at Intermountain Neurosciences Institute - Inpatient clinic in Murray, Utah, supporting patients already admitted to the hospital. She has a special passion for caring for patients who have experienced a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), and she finds great meaning in helping them prevent future strokes. She takes time to understand each patient's individual risk factors, educate them about their condition, and create personalized strategies to support their overall health. Building trusting relationships and empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care is, for Erica, one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Erica believes every patient deserves to be heard, respected, and actively involved in their healthcare decisions. She sees her role as providing expert guidance while supporting each person's unique health goals, creating an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and partnering in their care. Her clinical interests include both inpatient and outpatient neurology.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she spent 10 years as a registered nurse on the Neurology unit at Intermountain Medical Center, caring for patients with stroke, TIA, and other neurological conditions. Those experiences inspired her to expand her role and play an even greater part in helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

Born and raised in Fishers, Indiana, Erica has called Utah home for the past 11 years. She is married with two young boys and enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing pottery, swimming, and hiking in her free time.
