About The Provider
Emily Daniels is a nurse practitioner (NP) working in palliative care at Intermountain Health’s Palliative Care at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray Utah. She supports patients in Murry, Cottonwood Heights, Sandy, South Jordan, and surrounding communities improving the quality of live for patients with serious, chronic, or life-limiting illnesses by managing physical, emotional and spiritual suffering.
Emily views patients not just as an illness or a set of symptoms, but as a whole person with physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. She believes that effective care goes beyond simply treating medical conditions; it requires understanding each patient's unique experiences, values, and preferences.
During her time in medicine, Emily has developed a particular interest in managing complex cases, especially those involving Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) technologies such as ECMO and Impella devices. These patients frequently require prolonged stays in the unit, which presents both challenges and unique opportunities for care but also allows her to build deeper relationships with her patients, and their families.
Outside the clinic, the Cache Valley native enjoys getting into nature and exploring the beauty of Utah with her old blind dog. She also loves art, museums and traveling.
