Elmira Ahnood, MD

Dr. Elmira Ahnood is a general surgeon at Intermountain Health's American Fork's Specialty Clinic in American Fork, Utah. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's needs. She believes in treating every patient with respect, honesty, and empathy, and partners closely with patients to help them achieve the best possible outcomes. Her goal is for every patient to feel informed, heard, and confident in the care they receive.

Dr. Ahnood has a special interest in hernia surgery and enjoys the combination of technical precision and meaningful improvements it can make in a patient's quality of life. Her clinical interests also include minimally invasive surgery, including procedures involving the colon, stomach, pancreas, and small bowel.

As a provider, Dr. Ahnood believes in treating every patient with compassion, respect, and honesty. By partnering with her patients and delivering evidence-based care, we can achieve the best possible outcomes together.

Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Dr. Ahnood earned her undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin before completing her Doctor of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She then completed her surgical residency training at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. She is board eligible in general surgery and is fluent in Farsi.

Outside of work, Dr. Ahnood enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, traveling, cooking, and exploring new cultures and cuisines. She also enjoys caring for her houseplants.
