Dylan Z Werst, MD

Dylan Werst, MD, is a hospitalist at Intermountain Health. As a hospitalist, Dr. Werst cares for patients throughout their hospital stay. He coordinates treatment, manages medications, and works with specialists, nurses, and patients’ primary care providers to keep their care connected. He's in the hospital every day — listening, answering questions, and making sure patients understand their plan of care from admission through discharge. He believes good patient care starts and ends with trust.

As a physician, Dr. Werst knows patients often feel vulnerable in the hospital. Whether he is offering reassurance, sharing a clear plan, or delivering hard news, he wants patients to know he is trustworthy and has their best interests at heart. He believes this trust builds a strong relationship that helps patients make real progress in their care and treatment.

Dr. Werst follows Sir William Osler's well-known advice: "Listen to the patient, he is telling you the diagnosis." He takes time to hear directly from each patient, so his understanding of their health comes from the person who knows it best.
