About Douglas S. Richards
About The Provider
Douglas Richards, MD, is a maternal fetal medicine physician with Intermountain Health. He supports patients at several different clinics along the Wasatch Front including Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Alta View Hospital, and Riverton Hospital. His clinical interests include managing high-risk pregnancies, and ultrasound diagnosis of fetal problems. He is actively involved in using simulations to teach procedures and conduct drills for obstetric emergencies.
Dr. Richards attended the University of Utah School of Medicine where he stayed to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina, and is board certified in that subspecialty. Following his fellowship, he joined the faculty at the University of Florida where he worked for the next 24 years. He then returned to Utah to join the MFM division at IHC and the University of Utah.
