About Donna S. Dizon-Townson
About The Provider
Dr. Donna Dizon-Townson completed her medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School followed by residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She moved to Utah for fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. During her fellowship, she worked at the Eccles Institute for Human Genetics studying molecular aspects of pregnancy complications. She is an authority on thrombophilic disorders in pregnancy, having published several pioneering papers on factor V Leiden. She has won numerous awards for her research and publications on hereditary thrombophilias and genetic predisposition to host immune responsiveness. She currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Quality and Continuous Process Improvement for both Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Intermountain Health Care System. She has obtained the National Association for Healthcare Quality CPHQ certification. Recently, she has been invited to serve on the Vizient Obstetrics Quality and Accountability Steering Committee on a national level. She is married to another Ob Gyn and has two adult sons. In her off time, she travels to remote areas to teach Helping Mothers Survive curriculum which she helped coauthor. In her time away from medicine, she enjoys making best use of her private pilot license and flying around Utah and the surrounding areas.
