Dillon Tanner, NP

Dillon Tanner, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who cares for patients of all ages at Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Clinic - Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic in Provo, Utah. He has a special interest in adolescents, young adults, and older adults. He treats anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mood disorders, and his care includes psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management.

Dillon spent several years caring for older adults at the Utah State Hospital, where he came to appreciate their unique needs and experiences. He also enjoys helping adolescents and young adults through times of change, such as building independence, managing relationships, and handling school or career pressures. He finds it rewarding to help patients understand what they are going through, take practical steps toward feeling better, and build a treatment plan that fits their goals.

Dillon sees treatment as a partnership. He believes good mental health care starts with understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis. He takes time to listen and explains diagnoses and treatment options in a way that is easy to understand. Because mental health care is not one-size-fits-all, he works with each patient to create a plan that fits their life. He strives to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where patients feel heard, respected, and involved in their care. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing patients feel empowered and recognize that they are feeling better.

Dillon is from Spanish Fork, Utah. Outside of work, his favorite role is being a husband and dad. He and his family love being outdoors, especially near the water, where they swim, fish, and paddleboard. At home, they enjoy card games and watching Bluey, which Dillon admits he enjoys as much as his kids do. In his free time, he likes to golf, study chess, and watch Star Wars.
