About Desarom Teso

Desarom Teso, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon serving patients throughout the Denver metro area. He brings extensive experience in both open and endovascular procedures, with a reputation for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered vascular care. Dr. Teso has a particular passion for managing complex arterial and venous diseases and guiding patients through every stage of their treatment and recovery.
Dr. Teso completed his general surgery internship and residency at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Yale School of Medicine, under the mentorship of Dr. Stanley Dudrick. During this time, he also served as a research fellow at Yale School of Medicine, conducting both basic and clinical research focused on cell signaling, arterial wall response to injury, and outcomes related to carotid artery disease. His work resulted in numerous publications and research awards. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in vascular surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston under the guidance of Dr. William Mackey.
Prior to relocating to Colorado, Dr. Teso spent 14 years as an attending vascular surgeon at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he also served as Chief of Medical Staff from 2017 to 2019. From 2014 to 2022, he served as the Medical Director of Columbia Network Vascular Surgery, leading the program as it became one of the premier vascular centers in the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Teso’s clinical interests include open and endovascular treatment of arterial and venous disease, carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, complex venous disorders, dialysis access, vascular medicine, and preventative health. His research interests include carotid disease, treatment of critical limb ischemia, outcomes research, and the use of arterial duplex imaging in the management of complex vascular conditions.
His approach to care is guided by a simple philosophy: “To treat each of my patients as a family member and to provide the best care possible throughout their entire journey of healing.”
Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Teso is married and has two children in their late teens. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, participating in water sports, and spending quality time with his family.
