Derek D. Diaz, PA

Originally from California, Derek has a passion for improving the health of his patients and the community. He attended Cal State University in Fullerton for his undergraduate studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. He continued his education by earning a master’s in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Derek served as a social worker for twelve years. He graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Having worked in medicine for the last twelve years, Derek’s clinical interests include comprehensive brain and spine care.

Derek moved to Grand Junction in 2016 to immerse himself in the outdoors of Western Colorado. He enjoys mountain biking, rafting, climbing, and skiing with his spouse, three children and two dogs.
