About The Provider

Deidra Bacon is a certified nurse practitioner specializing in wound care at Intermountain Health's St. George Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. She serves patients in St. George and nearby communities, with a particular focus on wound care and diabetes management. As part of the wound care team, Deidra treats both inpatient and outpatient cases, addressing wounds from various causes. Her passion lies in helping patients heal while empowering them to understand their conditions, guiding them on the path to recovery.

Deidra earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on family medicine in 2008 from Frontier Nursing University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she gained nearly 20 years of diverse nursing experience, including work in urgent care, diabetes care, and wound clinics. She has been certified as a Wound Care Specialist by the American Board of Wound Management since 2015. Committed to shaping the future of healthcare, Deidra also teaches as a professor at Utah Tech University, helping train the next generation of medical professionals.

Deidra grew up in a small town in Utah where she learned about the importance of family and hard work. She is married, has three adult children and five grandchildren. In her off time, she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, and canyoneering with her children as well as biking and spending time with her dogs.
