About Deb Bumguardner
About The Provider
I received my Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1983. My first job was with Hilltop Rehabilitation Hospital, where I worked mostly with hand patients and individuals with brain injuries. I have spent my entire professional career of 41 years with either Hilltop or St. Mary's Hospital. During this time, I participated in the development of many innovative programs and services and led the Rehab teams through major transitions. With over 26 years of hand therapy rehabilitation experience, I look forward to continuing my practice in this area.
I decided to become an Occupational Therapist at age 13 and never changed my mind. I love to learn and to teach. Born the youngest of five children in Collbran, Colorado, I currently live in the ranch house my parents built in 1969 in Mesa, Colorado. My parents were foster parents for many years and adopted several children with intellectual disabilities, whom I have been blessed to care for over the years.
I have enjoyed all the usual western Colorado outdoor pursuits through the years; however, I have now entered the golfing stage of my life. My first purchase when I became employed was a Martin guitar, and I still love to jam.
