David Heyer, MD

David Heyer, MD, is a board-certified hematologist at Intermountain Health Cancer Center – Saint Joseph in Denver, Colorado. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for a wide range of blood disorders.

Dr. Heyer’s clinical interests span all areas of hematology, including the diagnosis and management of bleeding and clotting disorders, anemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and chronic leukemias. He is especially passionate about the intellectual challenge of hematology—carefully evaluating complex cases, establishing accurate diagnoses, and implementing the most effective, individualized therapies for his patients.

At the core of Dr. Heyer’s practice is a collaborative philosophy of care. He strives to partner closely with patients to make informed decisions that maintain and improve their health. He believes education is a powerful tool in medicine and takes great care to ensure patients fully understand their conditions, empowering them to actively participate in their treatment. Dr. Heyer also works closely with his care team to provide a coordinated, supportive experience for every patient.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Heyer enjoys hiking, walking his yellow Labrador Retriever, and spending quality time with his wife and sons.
