About The Provider
Dan Houtz is a speech pathologist at Intermountain Health’s Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation – Avenues Voice Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. He cares for patients from Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, West Valley, and the surrounding communities. Dan specializes in voice and upper airway disorders and has more than 20 years of experience helping people find relief from hoarseness, chronic cough, and upper‑airway breathing difficulties.
Dan finds it especially meaningful to see patients who have struggled with severe throat or breathing problems begin to feel better—often in a short amount of time. He believes every person deserves a care plan that fits their life, goals, and needs, and he works closely with his colleagues in speech‑language pathology and Ear, Nose and Throat care to provide coordinated, expert support.
He also enjoys clinical research and looks for patterns and insights that can help more patients. By collecting data and sharing findings through published articles, Dan contributes to advancing care in his field.
When he’s not at the clinic, Dan enjoys time with his wife and children. He loves being part of their academic and extracurricular adventures and supporting the things that matter most to them.
