About

About The Provider

Colby Cevering, DO, is a board-certified neuro-oncologist committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with complex neurologic and neuro-oncologic conditions. He specializes in diagnosing and treating primary brain tumors and has clinical interests in neurofibromatosis, motor neuron disease, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Fascinated by the complexity of the brain and nervous system, he is especially drawn to cases that underscore the central nervous system's remarkable intricacy and the impact neurological disorders can have on patients' lives.

Originally from North Ogden, Utah, Dr. Cevering earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Southern Utah University before pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his neurology residency at Loma Linda University and advanced subspecialty training through a neuro-oncology fellowship at the University of Colorado, where he developed expertise in caring for patients with brain tumors and other complex neurologic diseases.

Dr. Cevering believes exceptional patient care begins with understanding what matters most to each individual. His approach is grounded in patient autonomy and evidence-based medicine, recognizing that treatment decisions should reflect both a patient's personal values and the highest-quality scientific data. He views healthcare as a collaborative process and takes pride in discussing treatment options openly, helping patients understand the risks and benefits of each approach so they can make informed decisions aligned with their goals, priorities, and quality-of-life considerations.

By combining the latest medical research with personalized care, Dr. Cevering strives to help patients feel confident and supported throughout their healthcare journey. Whether managing a newly diagnosed brain tumor, a chronic neurologic condition, or a complex treatment decision, he aims to provide expert guidance while ensuring patients remain active participants in their care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cevering enjoys exploring the outdoors through canyoneering and hiking, and he makes it a goal to complete at least one obstacle course race each year. A lifelong musician, he has played the piano since age seven and enjoys creating music in a variety of styles. He also loves trying new foods, riding roller coasters, and spending time with family and friends playing games.
