About The Provider
Dr. Claire Hiles brings 11 years of practice experience to her position with Intermountain Health’s La Canada Oncology Clinic. She enjoys challenging cases involving neuro-oncology and thoracic oncology and strives toward developing trust with her patients.
While in the United States Air Force, Dr. Hiles directed a hematology/oncology clinic during the pandemic, several FEMA taskings, and military-wide restructuring. She rose to the rank of Major. Her husband continues to serve as a pulmonary/critical care MD with the Air Force.
Dr. Hiles has published numerous articles on oncology and neurosurgery-related topics in professional journals and has made many presentations on those topics before groups of medical professionals nationwide. She has also participated in numerous medical research projects and taught physicians in training. Among her many awards are the Air Force Achievement Medal and several honors for her outstanding humanitarian work.
Dr. Hiles earned her MD from the University of Virginia. She completed an internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at San Antonio Uniform Services Health Education Consortium. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine.

Dr Hiles has done very well to keep me off of IV chemo for now. I’m very impressed with her, out of the 5 previous oncologists I’ve had, she is by far the best one.
