Cindy Jo Emmett, NP

Cindy Jo "CJ" Emmett, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in electrophysiology at Intermountain Health's McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She has been a nurse since 2011 and has cared for cardiac patients since 2014, spending the last two years in cardiac imaging and stress testing. While she has a strong interest in structural heart and interventional care, the heart's electrical system has always been her greatest passion.

CJ treats heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation and flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and bradycardia. She also provides post-cardiac device placement care, management of cardiac rhythm devices, and medication management for rhythm control. She especially enjoys helping patients who have received a new diagnosis fully understand their condition, learn to manage it, and find ways to keep doing the things they love.

As a provider, CJ doesn't treat arrhythmias; she treat patients. She communicates succinctly, honestly, and straightforwardly, and values patient autonomy above all. She is happy to guide care, but wants every patient to feel they have a caring partner rather than someone dictating their treatment.

CJ spent her childhood in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming, and graduated from high school in Arizona. As an adult, she has lived in Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming, and Utah, calling Utah home for nearly 10 years. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, bike riding, reading, crocheting, and travel. She loves spending time with her two adult daughters — grocery shopping, thrift shopping, and grabbing brunch or a pastry and coffee together — and her corgi adds the sugar and spice to her life.
