Christiana M. Heywood, NNP

Christiana Heywood is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner with advanced clinical expertise in neonatal intensive care. She specializes in high-risk deliveries, complex pre- and post-operative care, and advanced neonatal procedures. With a deep commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning, Christiana is dedicated to advancing neonatal outcomes both locally and globally.

Caring for extremely premature infants holds special meaning for her. Though these babies are small and vulnerable, Christiana sees in them remarkable strength and potential. Supporting them through their earliest, most fragile moments and helping them achieve important milestones is what continually inspires her work.

“Providing expert, compassionate care to premature and critically ill infants while also supporting and empowering their families is at the heart of my care. By nurturing both babies and parents during these early, challenging moments, I strive to build stronger families who, in turn, create stronger communities.”

Christiana earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oral Roberts University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University. She is passionate about improving neonatal care worldwide, especially in resource-limited settings, and works toward a future where all newborns, regardless of where they are born, have the best possible start in life.

When not caring for patients, Christiana loves spending time with her husband, their two dogs, exploring new coffee shops and restaurants, and traveling to new countries around the world.
