About The Provider
Dr. Chansong Choi is a gastroenterologist at Intermountain Health’s Southridge Clinic, in Riverton Utah. She supports patients in Riverton, Bluffdale, West Jordan, South Jordan, and surrounding communities, treating gastrointestinal dysmotility, inflammatory bowel disease, upper GI conditions, chronic liver disease, and more. She received her medical degree from the University of Utah and chose gastroenterology as her specialty as it requires a mixture of intellectual medicine, and hands-on approach with endoscopy.
Dr. Choi believes in treating every patient with respect and regarding them as a loved family member who deserves timely and accurate medical care. She works collaboratively with patients to investigate symptoms and determine an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan even when answers are not immediately available. She believes her job is to equip her patients with medical information that will help them feel confident in making the best decision for their health and wellbeing.
Dr. Choi is originally from South Korea but was raised in the Salt Lake Valley. She considers nature her second home, having spent much of her growing up hiking at Millcreek Canyon and Big Cotton Wood Canyon. She is happy to be back in Utah with her husband, two kids, and their black labrador, watching movies, and enjoying a night out for sushi, and a good wine.

Thank you for listening and not just putting a label on and moving me along. Seriously did realize not how fortunate I was to have her be the one who could handle my care. Best day in a long time.

I went in with a list of issues, but Dr Choi helped me focus on what was most important. Explained the next steps and how the follow up procedures would work and asked me what I wanted. I felt like I had agency and everything was explained in a way I could understand.
