Carolyn N. Huang, MD

Dr. Huang graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and a minor in Global Health Studies. While at Northwestern, she had many opportunities to travel and learn about other cultures and healthcare systems. She spent two months studying abroad in Cuba, and also volunteered in Kenya, Ghana, and India. During her time in Nairobi, Kenya, she saw a baby delivered for the first time and fell in love with obstetrics. Dr. Huang attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. During her four years of medical school, she also received her Master of Public Health degree and continued to learn more about barriers to care in a variety of different healthcare systems when she spent time in Costa Rica and the border community of Presidio, Texas. Dr. Huang completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona Tucson. While at the University of Arizona she was part of the Spanish Language and Health Care Disparities Distinction Tract. Her clinical interests include preventive care, addressing healthcare disparities within medicine, obstetrics, and minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Huang’s interests outside of medicine include traveling, hiking, skiing, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
