About Camille S. Calderwood
About The Provider
Dr. Camille Calderwood is a urogynecologist, or female pelvic medicine physician. She was born in Peru and lived in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil before settling in Texas at age 16. She earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish literature with a minor in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Arlington. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston before completing an obstetrics and gynecology internship/residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. Dr. Calderwood worked as an OB-GYN for eight years prior to completing a three year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
"I believe that the patient and I are partners in care. My job is to guide, educate and empower them to make decisions that best suit their needs. Health and well-being are intimate issues, influenced by beliefs, cultural norms and state of mind. My job is to navigate these beliefs with care and respect. I want my patients to feel heard, respected and validated. Furthermore, I believe as a provider I have a moral and ethical obligation to stay educated in the latest research and in new therapies.”
Dr. Calderwood has many areas of clinical interest including: robotic and laparoscopic surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence, postpartum pelvic floor injury, menopausal health, nutrition, and integrative medicine.
Volunteering overseas is one of Dr. Calderwood’s passions. She has traveled to Tanzania and Zambia on surgical mission trips. She plans to volunteer in Zambia again in the future.
When she is not at work, Dr. Calderwood enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys gardening, photography, and dancing Argentine Tango in her spare time.
