Dr. Brian Allen is a comprehensive cardiologist from Austin, Texas whose journey in medicine reflects a deep commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. After obtaining his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Allen's early years of post-graduate medical training included two formative years as a doctor in a Family Medicine Residency at LSU-New Orleans. It was during this time that he recognized his true calling in cardiology. Driven by this newfound passion, he embarked on a transformative path to specialize in the intricacies of the heart. Dr. Allen's pursuit of excellence led him to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas in Austin. This experience not only deepened his medical knowledge but also instilled a holistic patient-centered approach that remains a hallmark of his practice.
He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at LSU Health and Science Center in New Orleans and an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. He is passionate about peripheral and coronary artery disease as well as preventative cardiology. His dedication to comprehensive cardiac care is reflected in his diverse board certifications, including: internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography, vascular imaging, nuclear medicine, and a variety of interventional coronary and peripheral procedures. His experience and skill set allows for a multi-faceted, holistic approach to patient care, encompassing both diagnosis and treatment. Outside of his service as a cardiologist, he enjoys spending time with his wife hiking the trails of Colorado, playing guitar, and discovering new music.
He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts and his cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Allen brings a depth of clinical experience shaped by his work across diverse healthcare settings, including his most recent role at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas and Heart, Endovascular, and Rhythm of Texas in Austin. His commitment to excellence is reflected in numerous honors, including multiple Best Abstract awards and recognition for his contributions to heart failure research and quality improvement initiatives.
