April B. Hanson, NP

April Hanson is originally from Central, Louisiana. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by her Master of Science degree with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from Herzing University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has lived in Montana for almost 15 years and has worked for St. Vincent Healthcare for 14 years. Most of her career has been spent in the Critical Care Resource pool, as well as, the Cardiac Cath lab. As a nurse practitioner, April enjoys caring for critically ill patients. She is passionate about health promotion and women’s overall health.

“As a Nurse Practitioner within the Hospitalist group, my responsibility is to provide holistic care to my patients. As an APRN, one is a patient advocate and can identify patient preferences in an emphatic and not paternalistic fashion in order to help navigate, coordinate and facilitate multi-disciplinary and patient-centered care. My personal philosophy of caring and health promotion, I will be able to provide emphatic as well as holistic care to the diverse group of patients we care for here at St. Vincent Healthcare.”

When she is not at work, April enjoys hiking, traveling, camping with her husband and son.
