About

About The Provider

Angela Jackson is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and child and family therapist at Intermountain Health's McKay-Dee Behavioral Health Clinic in Ogden, Utah. She provides individual and family therapy for children under 12, with a special interest in working with children ages 8 and younger. Angela also welcomes back any patient she has treated previously, regardless of their age.

She works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-esteem, parenting challenges, behavioral disruption, attention and hyperactivity problems, child abuse, divorce and blended families, Autism Spectrum Disorder, school disruption, grief and loss, obsessive thoughts and behaviors, and medical trauma. Angela also has a strong interest in metabolic health and how physical health and illness affect mental health.

In sessions, Angela uses toys, games, art, sand tray, and other creative techniques to teach concepts in ways children understand, along with a child-centered play therapy approach that gives children space to express their feelings. Parents are an important part of the process — Angela makes sure families understand the skills their child is learning, and she always includes parents in sessions for children ages 3 and under.

Angela earned her master's degree in 1990 and spent seven years at a county mental health facility in Arizona before moving to Utah and joining Intermountain Health.
