Andrew Nelson, a Plain City, Utah native, is passionate about teaching. He believes to understand a subject, you must be able to teach it, which has played a crucial role in his development as a PA.
His care philosophy revolves around patient-centered medicine. To him, this means ensuring that the patient feels that their concerns are heard and addressed and that every possible measure is taken to ensure the patient's well-being. He also continues his education so he's prepared to provide high-quality patient care.
He wants his patients to know that he is a person before a provider. He enjoys learning about his patients' backgrounds, feeling that it helps create a clearer understanding of their needs. He is a dedicated healthcare provider who strives to be the best provider possible by being respectful of vulnerabilities and maintaining the trust that his patients have in him.
Andrew is an Eagle Scout and has volunteered as a chairperson for WSUSA's Boys and Girls Club, at the Special Olympics, YCC Family Crisis Center Habitat for Humanity, and more. He loves spending time with his wife, a devoted teacher, and spending time outside, running, golfing, playing tennis, fishing, hunting, and snowboarding.
