About Andrea S. Thornton
About The Provider
Dr. Thornton is originally from Boulder, Colorado. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Colorado in Denver followed by her medical degree at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. Following her medical education, she moved to Sacramento, California to complete an Internal Medicine residency and a Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship at the University of California Davis. Dr. Thornton had an affinity for science at a young age but initially had a career in Business. Her desire to help others and intense interest in medicine brought her into the medical field.
"I believe it is still a privilege to serve others as a physician. As a critical care physician, I often find myself in the midst of the most difficult decisions a patient or their family members will have to make. It is an honor to share these moments and witness some of the best that being human has to offer. I subscribe to the guidance of one of my mentors: Always do the right thing for the patient."
When not at work, Dr. Thornton enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking and the company of her four dogs.
