Amy Stewart, LCSW

Amy Stewart, LCSW, is a social worker at Intermountain Health's Cottonwood Clinic - Psychiatry and Counseling in Murray, Utah. She has been part of the Intermountain Health team for 10 years, helping patients work through depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma, crisis situations, career and job stress, relationship, family, and couples conflict, and religious angst.

Amy draws on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailors her care to what each person needs. She is trained in: 

• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which helps patients process memories of a traumatic event so the facts remain but the painful emotions attached to them ease.
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including mindfulness and calming techniques along with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which helps patients recognize and shift negative thinking patterns, and she uses motivational interviewing to support patients in setting and reaching their goals.

Amy is a member of the Utah Social Work Association.
