Amanda R Meier, RD

Amanda Meier is a registered dietitian at Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Clinic - Diabetes and Endocrinology in Provo, Utah. She supports patients in Utah County, specializing in diabetes care, including Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. She also supports patients living with heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and obesity.

Some of Amanda's most rewarding appointments are with patients who are newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Having grown up with a sister who has Type 1 diabetes, Amanda understands firsthand the changes a new diagnosis can bring to a family. She loves helping patients navigate this transition, offering guidance so they leave feeling better prepared to manage their new normal.

Amanda's philosophy of care centers on empathy and clarity. "I want to empathize with patients and make them feel heard. Diabetes affects many areas of a person's life, and patients are often struggling in more than one aspect. I commit to evidence-based research to provide the most up-to-date nutrition information. Patients are often overwhelmed and confused by what they see online, and I value nutrition truth and provide clarity."

Above all, Amanda wants patients to feel supported, not judged. "Just because I'm a dietitian doesn't mean I'm going to shame you for what you're eating. I want to meet you where you are and set goals together that feel attainable. This is a no-judgment zone—all foods fit!"

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Amanda is also a certified group fitness instructor and has taught High-Intensity Interval Training for six years—a passion that pairs naturally with her work in nutrition. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys baking, hosting parties, and spending time with her husband and their two young children.
