About Amanda J. Welcer
About The Provider
Amanda (Welcer) Citkovic joined the Center for Brain and Spine in 2016. Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Furthering her education took her to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she earned a master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. While completing her education, she was employed in Microbiology at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Upon completion of her education, she worked as a Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant at Hartford HealthCare Medical Group. While there, she assisted in cardiac surgery, performed endoscopic vein harvesting, as well as conducted preoperative and postoperative assessments for surgical candidates. Upon moving to Colorado, she worked in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine where her duties consisted of assisting intraoperatively for joint replacements, arthroscopic repair of sports medicine related injuries, injecting of joints, as well as performing history and physicals for surgical candidates. Her skills then brought her to neurosurgery where she works closely with neurosurgeons, to include first assisting in the operating room for a wide variety of neurosurgical procedures, which include those of a very active neuro-trauma service, as well as brain and spine surgery.
Amanda enjoys the beauty of Colorado and all of the outdoor recreation it is has to offer. She also will not miss an opportunity to sneak off for some beach time when she can.

I felt like Amanda was extremely thorough and did an excellent job of explaining my test results and concerns in a manner I could understand (not using a lot of medical terminology). She was very patient in answering all of my questions.
