Amaan Shafi, MD

Amaan Shafi, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. As a Henderson native, he is proud to serve the community where he was raised by providing advanced, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

His clinical interests include treating atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, cardiac device therapy, and stroke prevention. Dr. Shafi has expertise in catheter ablation and in implanting traditional, physiologic, and leadless pacemakers, as well as implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. He also specializes in left atrial appendage occlusion procedures for patients who cannot tolerate long-term blood thinners.

Dr. Shafi believes in partnering closely with his patients, ensuring they understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care. His goal is to develop personalized treatment plans that improve heart health and quality of life.

Dr. Shafi earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, where he served as both Chief Resident and Chief Fellow. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Shafi enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid reader and enjoys fitness, basketball, tennis, rock climbing, and stand-up comedy.
