Allison Shippen, RD

Allison Shippen is a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in diabetes care at Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Clinic - Diabetes and Endocrinology in Provo, Utah, supporting patients in Provo, Orem, Vineyard, Lindon, and surrounding communities. She treats Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as hyperlipidemia, and provides nutrition counseling tailored to each patient's needs. Allison especially enjoys working with patients who are eager to learn and ready to make meaningful changes to their health.

Allison believes nutrition should feel approachable, not restrictive. She understands that food is not inherently good or bad, and the focus with nutrition should be on individual preferences, needs, and balancing different types of foods. She takes time to get to know each patient, helping them build habits that fit their lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

Originally from Brigham City, Utah, Allison is married and has four children. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
