Alison Kohutek, DNP, APRN, FNP-C works with the general surgery and trauma team at Intermountain Health’s Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, helping support patients throughout northern Utah. She enjoys working in a pediatric specialty and helping kids regain their health and doing what they do best — being kids!
With over 25 years of pediatric nursing experience, she is a dedicated advocate for patient and family-centered care with a deep commitment to supporting families through compassionate, evidence-based practice and collaborative care models. Her philosophy of care surrounds the quote by Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Alison brings both clinical expertise and leadership while fostering environments where families feel empowered and supported throughout their healthcare journey. Her healthcare approach is rooted in empathy, communication, and a strong belief in the healing power of partnership between caregivers and families by helping families navigate complex healthcare experiences with confidence and compassion.
Originally from Farmington, Utah, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, including her three kids, daughter-in-law, and dog. Outside the clinic you can find her outdoors whether hiking, running, spending time in her garden, or traveling. She loves the fall and football, especially the University of Utah football-Go Utes! Someday she hopes to travel to all seven continents, especially Antarctica.
