About Ahmad Rayes

Dr. Rayes received his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at the University Children's Hospital. He earned his master's degree during his training and practiced as a pediatric hospitalist after graduation. He completed another pediatric residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Following fellowship, he served as a pediatric BMT hospitalist at Cincinnati Children's hospital. He went on to complete a pediatric blood and marrow transplant fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Rayes joined the faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology where he currently serves as an Assistant Professor. He is a member of the pediatric blood and marrow transplant team at the University of Utah and Primary Children's Hospital. Dr. Rayes's clinical interests include non-malignant hematologic diseases, primary immune deficiencies, bone marrow failure syndromes and inherited metabolic disorders.
Dr. Rayes's research interests include graft vs. host disease, bone marrow failure syndromes and primary immune deficiencies. He was awarded the Ernest McCulloch and James Till Award for best science paper published in BBMT by a new investigator in 2017.
