Adriana Vega, NP

Adriana Vega, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, is a neonatal nurse practitioner at Intermountain Health's Primary Children's Hospital - Neonatology in Salt Lake City, Utah. Adriana cares for premature and medically complex newborns. She finds it deeply meaningful to be part of a baby's journey from some of their most vulnerable moments through growth and development. Adriana also has a strong interest in genetics and enjoys caring for infants with genetic conditions or complex diagnoses, particularly when understanding the underlying diagnosis can help guide care and give families answers. Her clinical interests include premature and medically complex newborns, neonatal genetics and congenital conditions, neonatal nutrition and growth, neurodevelopment, and family-centered care. She is especially interested in understanding the "why" behind complex neonatal presentations and using that knowledge to provide individualized, evidence-based care.

Adriana wants families to know how much she loves caring for newborns and how meaningful this work is to her. She approaches each baby with compassion, curiosity, and attention to the details that can make a difference. She also recognizes that having a baby who is premature, critically ill, or facing a complex diagnosis can be an incredibly emotional experience. She takes the time to explain what is happening, answer questions, and advocate for what is best for each baby, so families feel heard, respected, and supported.

A Utah native, Adriana loves spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors, especially being in the sun, at the lake, paddle boarding, and swimming. She's also a fan of game nights, board and card games, and is a self-described bingo fanatic.
